From consultation to confident results, here’s what to expect every step of the way.

Consultation

Your orthodontist reviews orthodontic records and completes an examination to confirm you’re a candidate for InSmile Braces.

Smile Design

Using digital technology, your orthodontist and the InSmile Braces team design your treatment digitally to plan every movement.

Bonding

Braces are placed behind your teeth, and your first custom Smartwire® is engaged to begin aligning your smile.

Progress

You'll receieve periodic checkups to change your Smartwire® to the next in the sequence.

Braces Off

At the end of treatment, your orthodontist will remove your InSmile Braces, completing your smile transformation.

Day to Day Care, Made Simple

Brush Twice Daily

Brush thoroughly every morning and night with fluoride toothpaste to keep your teeth, brackets, and smile clean.

Floss with Ease

Because the InSmile Braces SmartWire® curves below the gums, flossing is simpler compared to traditional braces.

Avoid Hard/Sticky Foods

Limit foods that can damage brackets or wires, such as caramel, popcorn, or very crunchy snacks. Softer options are always safer.

Comfort and Speech: What to Expect

Most patients adapt within a few days to two weeks. Lingual braces sit close to the tongue, so you may notice changes in speech or mild tongue irritation at first. Reading aloud, staying hydrated, and consistent brushing help speed up adaptation. By week two, most people are speaking and eating normally.

It’s common to notice a slight lisp or change in speech during the first few days. Practicing by reading aloud, singing, or repeating tongue twisters can help the tongue adapt faster. If you’re struggling, orthodontists may recommend warm water rinses or orthodontic wax for smoother speech adjustment.

Mild soreness or tongue sensitivity is normal as your mouth adjusts. Over-the-counter relief may be suggested by your orthodontist for the first few days. Wax can help cover any sharper spots, and rinsing with salt water reduces irritation. Within 1–2 weeks, most patients report their braces feel natural.
